AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co. (909) 790-0707 32999 Yucaipa Blvd; Ste. 112 Yucaipa, Ca. 92399 By: Ed Wright
Every great restaurant starts somewhere… and for “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” that somewhere is fortunately for Yucaipa, right across the street from the Yucaipa Sizzler Restaurant, in a strip mall. The little pizza shop presently only seats a dozen, or so people… has no room for games, and does not serve beer of wine (however we have been told they may be able to expand the seating area in the near future). The good news is that when you start out small you tend to compensate in many other ways… and trust “The Wright Gourmet” on this one, “AJ Barile’s” excels in just about every other possible way !
The "Small Size" thing aside, “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” in fact is really big in many ways… They are Big on Quality, Huge on Taste, and Fanatical about Consistency and Cleanliness… not to mention big on service with a side serving of attitude (you rapidly come to enjoy); but when you serve up some of the best pizza in the Inland Empire, you can afford to have fun with a little (lot) good natured attitude!
“The Wright Gourmet's” prediction; “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” is going to earn “Best Pizza” awards from every food and restaurant critic, news paper and magazine that takes the time to review their pizzas. I believe their pizza is honestly that good!
If thin, crispy crusted pizza; the kind of pizza you eat every bite of; pizza made with generous quantities of only the best quality toppings; pizza sold at a reasonable price, without a lot of stupid coupon games is what you like, than “AJ Barile’s Pizza” is going to be your kind of place also. This is not the typical doughy, bread casserole thick, tasteless stuff served at so many other coupon pizza chain restaurants. This is the kind of pizza that has lines forming out the door, and friends telling friends about it, kind of pizza! But it is more than just pizza...
“AJ Barile’s” also serves up some wickedly delicious sandwiches, calzones and salads. I can personally recommend Barile’s meatball sandwich. This is a two handed sandwich which is one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of tasting (lots of meat, and just the right amount of sauce). But enough about sandwiches, salads and anything other than pizza.. This article is about "The Best Pizza," and how I come to such a conclusion.
Great sandwiches aside, if you are like me, you have your own personal favorite combination of ingredients that make up your idea of the "perfect" pizza. My personal "signature" pizza we laughingly call a “Big Ed,” consists of Extra Sauce, Pepperoni, Sausage, Olives and Mushrooms. I find that this combination is good in thin, thick and deep dish pan styles of pizza, and most any pizza shop can readily make it. This is what we order any time we are doing pizza reviews in order to assure we fairly compare products. For the record, “AJ Barile’s” cooks up my “Big Ed Special” pizza just about perfect every time, and does so on their incredibly crispy thin crust pie. It comes out exceptional.
We understand if my "Big Ed" special is not your favorite pizza, and "AJ Barile’s" has you covered if such is the case with their menu of Barile’s own specialty combination pizzas in addition to all the typical standard combinations. Barile’s pizza humor extends to size also, because size counts with some families or for larger parties; in this case you may want to order one of "AJ Barile’s" monster pizzas. These pizzas are large enough to easily feed 10 or more really hungry appetites or a whole lot more reasonable diners. Great for office parties! (Check out the picture to see the size of the "Jumbo" pizza).
Restaurant owners, Al and his wife Tina, have been working overtime on their unspoken, devious plan to expand all our waist lines for almost a year, since taking over the fairly popular Yucaipa “Antonio's Pizza” location and reworking everything… presently, nothing is the same as the old Antonio's but the address and phone number. The pizza is completely different, and consistently great.
The Wright Gourmet (Ed Wright), highly recommends “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.,” if you try it once, nothing will be the same about your old favorite pizza place again… you have been warned! We understand that you can purchase $5.00 dollar pizzas, and 2 for 1 deals at countless pizza restaurants; but you get exactly what you pay for (maybe a little less), at most of these restaurants. Barile’s Pizza costs a little more, as does quality anything... but you receive a whole lot more for your hard earned money, and you will enjoy every bite!
Once again, My prediction; except for the additional seating and the beer served at “The Gourmet Pizza Shoppe” (120 E. State St., Redlands), who has earned the “Best Pizza in the Inland Empire” awards for literally years now (exceptionally good pizza also), may have some serious competition for “Best Pizza” with the tiny little “AJ Barile’s Pizza.” If you are close to Yucaipa try it for yourself… many of my friends agree, and you just might find you also have a new favorite Pizza Restaurant.

Pizza is absolutely one of the 4 major food groups when you are in college, and you can live gloriously well eating at “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” This little pizza shop makes some of the best pizza I have ever eaten, and for sure makes the best pizza in Yucaipa. I have never tried the sandwiches since their pizza is my favorite! Why mess with perfection? “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” rates better than 100 on my ratings scale, so you need to change yours, otherwise I rate it a measly 100! OUTSTANDING PIZZA, even if you do find yourself standing in a line to pick it up!

Greetings! as you would say Ed. The Wright Gourmet got this restaurant Right! “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” without question blows away all the mass produced "Chain Store" pizzas, right off of the scale. No beer and not much seating, this restaurant seems to do most of it's business as a "take out," but we found the service good at one of their small tables. “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” is the kind of place where people just seem to know each other and enjoy sharing. One of the other tables happily shared their chicken wings with us while we waited for our pizza order. Tasty Chicken wings (a little spicy).
“AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” special "pappa something," (some family named thing) is an extremely good pizza. You want to order what ever size pizza you normally would order one size larger because you will eat just that much extra here. We ate everything, including the crust which we normally would have left uneaten. This is probably the best pizza we have ever eaten. Great recommendation Ed Wright; "The Wright Gourmet" really knows where to find the best pizza. “AJ Barile’s Chicago Beef & Pizza Co.” Serves up the best! Period! 100 rating!
(PS: Ed, when do I become a "Gourmet," and get a title?
