About This Review

“The Wright Gourmet” has enjoyed the Mill Creek Cattle Company for numerous years now, and my family especially enjoys the “All-You-Can-Eat” buffets (not good for my diet). Many of the photos taken were from the Cattle Company’s Easter Buffet; with the Mother’s Day Buffet being one of the most popular in the area.

Special Events & Parties
The Mill Creek Cattle Co. is no tiny corner BBQ dive; The facilities make the perfect location for large business meetings, church lunches, and parties of all kinds.
The restaurant includes several large dining areas plus two old west saloon style bars.

Pork Ribs
The Food is what it is all about at the Mill Creek Cattle Company; we are talking about some of the best Slow Smoked Baby Back and Saint Luis Style Pork Ribs in the entire area. As a bonus if you like the meatier pork spare ribs (Saint Luis Style), The Mill Creek Cattle Company serves up an “All You Can Eat” Rib Dinner on Thursday Nights featuring Spare Ribs. Incredible deal for rib lovers!

My favorite are the Baby Back Ribs, but Mill Creek herb rubs and slow smokes all their meats over orange wood logs and serves the ribs dry style, with BBQ Sauce on the side. There is no mistaking these ribs are the kind of BBQ others attempt to imitate with a light smoke taste permeating the meat without any “Liquid Smoke” flavorings.

Brisket and Tri-Tip
Once again, the real slow smoked tenderness that makes BBQ an American favorite. Heavy smoke rings attest to the hours of smoking with the perfect combination of herb and smoke taste. The meats are fork tender… moist and juicy.

Spicy Links and Pulled Pork
We have not personally tasted these items, but several of our “Staff” reviewers rave about Mill Creek Cattle Company’s links and pulled pork… these are items we will discuss in a follow up review; with better pictures.

Chicken
Mill Creek Cattle Company serves up an incredibly moist smoked rotisserie style chicken. Combined with Mill Creeks BBQ sauce, this chicken is a hard to beat value… and enough for two.

Steaks and Seafood
We highly recommend Mill Creek’s Rib-Eye and Porterhouse Steaks... very well done and cooked to perfection!  Plus, unlike many "Grills" that specialize in steaks, seafood lovers will enjoy Mill Creek's amazingly good, generous sized, broiled halibut in lemon butter; one of the best we have found outside of a specialty "Seafood Restaurant."

For a budget friendly menu… The Mill Creek Cattle Company is hard to beat.

Desserts
For dessert we can recommend the peach cobbler… or Mill Creek’s “Cattle Dump,” which is a two person sized ice-cream sundae loaded up with all the toppings.

Favorite Items
For the money Mill Creek’s Baby Back ribs are exceptional, and a personal favorite. Another favorite is Mill Creek’s signature Country Fried Steak and gravy (both regular & Cajon style).

Mill Creek Cattle Company BBQ Sauce
Of note is Mill Creek’s Signature BBQ Sauce which they bottle and sell in their gift shop. It is a thick, slightly chunky, exceptionally sweet sauce that works on just about everything... possibly even ice-cream! It is one of the sweetest BBQ sauces we have ever tasted and still enjoyed.

Minor Gripes  Although the corn bread is a Mill Creek Signature dish, I personally do not like the amount of cinnamon in the butter mix. Also the corn bread is often over cooked and dried out. We would recommend Mill Creek’s Garlic Bread… which is exceptional.

Our last gripe is with the twice baked potatoes, which are prepared earlier in the day and can become dried out... when served moist, they are very good.

Budget Friendly Smokehouse BBQ
The Mill Creek Cattle Company provides “Up-scale” quality at budget friendly “Blue Jean” prices… You can, and will pay twice as much at some of the other BBQ Houses; and get a whole lot less, plus wait a whole lot longer (I hate it when that happens). The little extra drive to Mentone is well worth your time; It is only several minutes further down the road, and actually very close to all of the Inland Empire.

“Kick it up a notch on Friday and Saturday Nights
in Mill Creek Cattle Company’s “Diamond Jim’s” Saloon & Dancehall. Festivities begin at about 8:30pm and last until 12:30am as Mill Creek hosts bands for music and dancing. The motif is “Old West” but the talent completely modern and as good as it gets without cover charges…

Dine and Dance while enjoying Diamond Jim's Saloon style Bar and Mill Creek Cattle Company's full menu.
This is the perfect party or dinner date for anyone on a budget, but still looking for great food and affordable fun.

PRICING NOTE:
Price out the cost of pork ribs, add in the expense of herb rubs and basting mops, wood, plus the time to slow cook everything all day long in a smoker. Add it all up, and you rapidly understand what a deal the “All-You-Can-Eat” Rib Specials and the Buffet becomes at about $14.00. The price and can not be beat even in Las Vegas... Amazing Value for your dining dollar!
