"Las Fuentes Mexican Grill" use to be one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Yucaipa, and the one in Redlands is still fairly good, but the Yucaipa location has gone downhill in both service and food quality. Las Fuentes Mexican Grill use to serve one of the best dinner buffets for the money to be found in the Yucaipa area also, but this has become more of a "Miss" than a "Hit" kind of thing. Actually the buffet is a total "Strike Out", if you decide to eat "Las Fuentes" order from the menu. The buffet has become a rip off, the quality is slightly above a warmed over TV Dinner and it takes them half the evening to decide to restock items that are low or were good. The buffet sellection is also limited to about that provided on a TV Dinner; they do not provide a very large selection. 

Somewhere the Yucaipa location of Las Fuentes Mexican Grill simply has lost that spark that made them so good, and if you talk with the management they make excuses and don't seem to care.

Greetings to "the Wright Gourmet;" The above review is right on target, Las Fuentes Mexican Grill (Yucaipa) started out so good we use to take everyone in the area there for lunch. That would be, IT USE to be good. The menu items are OK (nothing exceptional), and we took one look at the buffet on the buffet night, and walked out. Nasty, nasty looking buffet.

My ratings are based on the lunch menu. I am told the Redlands Las Fuentes is a lot better. We challenge you (Ed Wright) to review "Las Fuentes" buffet, and we will pay! You have to publish your "Wright Gourmet" review if we pay.

Greetings everyone; I (The Wright Gourmet) took the challenge (we went with my wife) and went back to "Las Fuentes Mexican Grill" (Yucaipa) and opted to try the buffet... again. I agree that the buffet has gone downhill rapidly, and decided as such to order from the menu. YES... The buffet is disappointing at best, and in my opinion the result of pricing cutbacks (You get what you pay for... and the price is very low). So all this said, avoid the buffet which is only served on 2 week-nights.

Fortunately Las Fuentes Mexican Grill still provides a complete menu and competitive prices, plus provids good value for your dining dollar. I also personally like the Redlands Las Fuentes, and find the menu and quality to be about the same. Service has never been an overly strong point at Las Fuentes Mexican Grill, but it is not really a low point either... I have received both good service and slow service over the past 2 plus years, but always friendly service; Las Fuentes is once again, a budget friendly restaurant, so overly attentive service is hard to expect.

The food is a very Americanized style of Mexican Food with all of the typical offerings... nothing "Gourmet," but definitely above average compared to many of the other local Yucaipa Mexican Restaurants, plus the serving sizes are generous. We would agree with some of our other reviewers observations that the overall "Las Fuentes" family quality has gone down since they opened to such great reviews, and also agree it would be nice if the buffet was either "Bumped Up" a few notches (charge more as required) or completely eliminated. (presently the buffet does not do justice to the actual quality of Las Fuentes in general.)

Wow...! some hard to understand reviews. "Las Fuentes Mexican Grill" (Yucaipa) is a great place for lunch or dinner. It has always provided a good dining experience. I do not eat the buffets, so this is not an issue for me. We enjoy the Redlands "Las Fuentes Mexican Grill" before going to the theater also, and agree with Ed Wright (The Wright Gourmet) that the food is about the same between the 2 locations (quality).

For the price "Las Fuentes Mexican Grill" is a very good restaurant; the chips are good and they keep the salsa full without charging extra, which is more then I can say for some other Mexican Restaurants in the area. On the down side, the service can be a bit on the slow side, but this is to be expected when restaurants become busy.
