Greetings Dad; Robin would be proud of you. From all that went on behind the scenes with this review you would have thought they actually served good food instead of just being really low priced. But when you are on a budget cheap is Good. There is nothing "Gourmet" about Tony's Spunky Steer, they are simply low priced, Dirt Cheap Eats, plus they are only a walk away from our office.

Well there goes a little bit of WrightTimes history that made reading restaurant reviews fun at work. That really was some very funny stuff you wrote about "Tony's Spunky Steer." No one at our office who had read your review can really believe you went back and actually ate lunch their again. I would have paid to been part of that review, just so I could have told them half way through lunch who you were! I assume you did not tell them you are "The Wright Gourmet?" Your a good man, and we are still laughing at your new review (we are not sure which one was worst, they both tell of a pretty bad dining experience).

For what it is worth the service at Tony's Spunky Steer has always been a bit tense, and the food is only good based on the price. We never order the steak, but the hamburgers are OK. Review ratings are based on Tony's Spunky Steer Cheese Burgers and not their steaks.

The restaurant we all came to know about because you ragged on them so bad. What is amazing is that Tony's Spunky Steer can actually get busy. The steak tastes like what we use to get served when I was in the Army. It is a great thing to remember and not have to do again. The place is getting old and ratty looking inside. As your review points out Ed, Tony's Spunky Steer is all about the price, and somewhere taste may come into play. NOT!

I think I agree with your original recommendation, the one about going to "Jack in the Box." Several of the guys at the office actually like the "Sizzling Platter" thing and go every now and than, which is how I end up going. I order the chicken; you can't screw up "yard bird" to badly.

We like Tony's Spunky Steer. It really is all about the money thing, and for the money nobody serves steak for less. I think the Sizzling Platter thing is good marketing, just don't touch the plate. You are right about their potatoes Ed... they are way over cooked.
