On a hot summer day, the fourth of July to be exact, my father, Claude Williams and Bob Logsdon got together with Al Hancock and signed the paperwork to purchase Hancock Camera.

That was 1966, the year that Empire Camera came into existence, and a great partnership began.

Together they served the Inland Empire from a few various locations in San Bernardino.

In 1983 Bob decided to retire and sold his share to my father. It was also the year we moved our store to Colton and that I came to work full time for my father.

Together, with the help of some very dedicated employees and family members we have brought our little family business to the present. We have become a true family business, my two brothers, a sister in-law and even my mother have put in time behind the counter serving customers.

As the trend moves from film to digital so does our business, so as well as providing cameras and photographic supplies we have a full digital imaging department, providing from image scans to CD/DVD to incredible restorations of old or damaged photos.

We have the largest used camera selection in the Inland Empire and are also the only full service repair facility in the IE, working on film, digital and video equipment.

Today, my brother Keith and I take care of most of the day-to-day, dad still comes in, helping with customers and taking care of the paperwork. Between the three of us and our employees, I’m sure that we can help with all of your photographic needs.

Introducing Tim Williams

California Online Magazine first discovered Tim Williams several years ago managing their family owned camera store, Empire Camera, in Redlands, California. At that time the “Wright Gourmet” was in charge of shooting the photographic content of just about every article posted using a point and shoot pocket digital camera. As the old “WrightTimes.com” magazine was retired and consideration was given to developing “California Online Magazine,” Tim and Empire Camera came increasingly into the picture.

The key to Restaurant Reviews, LifeStyle & Travel Articles are the supporting pictures. It was with input from Tim and Empire Camera that camera choice and lens purchases have been made. We have also taken several of Tim’s photography classes, and credit Tim’s input to the increasing quality of my personal photographic skills. Tim Williams and Empire Camera have proven an invaluable source for all of California Online Magazine’s photographic needs.

It was during this learning experience… while “The Wright Gourmet” was just beginning to drive Tim and his staff nuts with questions that we first viewed several of Tim’s personal photography portfolios. Tim had several of his pictures displayed at the local Redlands Camera Club (we are a member of the club also).

Tim, had always been modest about the quality of his personal work and proved to be an impressively accomplished photographer... it runs in the family. Both Tim and Keith are as expert in Travel, Food and LifeStyles photography as they are with architectural, product and portrait shoots. They keep a small lighted studio area set up in the back of Empire Camera for impromptu pictures.

As California Online has expanded the depth, scope and quality of the magazines content Tim has been there assisting. Because of this support California Online is light years ahead of where would be on our own. Thank You Tim, Keith and Empire Camera.

Photo Disclosures
If your admiring the photos on California Online, and the picture is exceptional, with the focus and color spot on, not blown out with too much flash… either it was dumb luck on Ed’s part or the photo credits to “Williams” (Tim or Keith). Thanks to this friendship, my own (Ed Wright; The Wright Gourmet) personal camera skills have improved dramatically and California Online Magazine posts some of the best content found on the internet.
