Nationwide Credit  - The Wright Team
The NCA Challenge Fails... the "Opportunity" a complete waste of time
By: Ed Wright

Red Flag 1:
Bill Cloyd’s parent company is “NForc” (pronounced “N-Force”), and is the company associated with his success. It is possible working with “NForc” directly might have produced better results, but we were recruited to work with Nationwide Credit Alliance (NCA). The biggest problem initially being that seemingly every bit of support materials were borrowed from, and branded by other NForc related companies. What was branded NCA was cut and pasted together with a semi-professional look. Not the degree of professionalism we wanted to be associated with, so we quietly agreed to help rework it accordingly.

A Multi-State Name Game = Same Services
On the surface it appears that “Nationwide Credit Alliance NCA” has the “Credit Repair Formula” down solid… but this is what they imply with the fact being NCA does not provide any repair services themselves. NCA, and all the other “clone” companies combined make up a multi-state marketing network selling the credit repair services of (www.NForc.com). This marketing network has grown large enough to become its own competition, with a growing list of company names, DBAs and unlicensed independent contractors representing the services. (some may dress like a pirate and sell clam chowder part time… it could happen!)

A Credit Repair “Shell Game”
This marketing network is both incredibly smart marketing and potentially deceptive. It could easily confuse consumers into thinking these are independent, competing entities (over 45 separate little clone businesses) in just about every state in the U.S. They all provide the same services under a multitude of company names and DBAs at similar prices. Undisclosed is the fact that “NForc” also sells the same services. Common sense would dictate contracting directly with them (www.NForc.com), so why all the supposedly independent companies and different names?

Red Flag 2: Circumventing Credit Repair Regulations
Keep in mind that credit repair customers tend to have an established record of not paying their bills; this is part of the reason they are looking for credit repair! This said, the repair companies aren’t dumb, they themselves want to assure they get paid… for them this is a business despite the “Ministry” angle several have played up in their sales pitch. For customers it is all about credit repair; which in the case of NCA can get lost in all the nebulous fluff “Membership” includes (we felt was comparatively worthless).

With this in mind one has to read the contract carefully to understand what you are paying for, after which it is possible to be left wondering why anyone would agree to pay anything for a seemingly worthless “Membership.” The contract appears to be designed to circumvent industry regulations which clearly state no repair company may charge an up-front fee for services. Problematic if you are a credit repair company who wants to assure they get paid by a consumer base with a proven track record of not paying their bills. But on the flip side, more importantly, this regulation is designed to protect the public… so why if the service is so great, circumvent this consumer protection with an inflated “Membership” fee?

Nationwide Credit Alliance is charging almost a thousand dollars for “Annual Membership” and only 5-dollars per negative item after that. Factor in that aside from their credit repair services “NCA Membership” would have little value to most customers. So ask yourself; why else confuse the primary credit repair service if not to circumvent consumer protection laws?

So Why All The Different Company Names for the same Service?
Why if not directly designed to overwhelm the “Credit Repair” industry with dozens of company names would any business ever want to confuse their proprietary service with so many names? Could it be, if and as one “Name,” say “NationWide Credit Alliance NCA” develops a bad reputation the multiname system makes it easier to reopen under a new one? Probably Not…

Perhaps it is designed to avoid tracking employee payroll and responsibilities that would typically be involved with a network of offices… or maybe an old fashioned take advantage of your employees “1099” Tax Dodge.

How Did We Become Involved with NationWide Credit Alliance NCA?
Because of our experience and expertise in the lending industry we were included as part of a mass marketing to Lenders and Realtors. With credit becoming more of an issue it is imperative, if this economy is ever going to recover, to assist those trapped by market conditions… and credit issues are becoming more problematic. We had heard some semi-positive industry “Buzz” about “Bill Cloyd,” so we responded.

After attending several online webinars, Bill Cloyd introduced us to one of his "partner companies," Nationwide Credit Alliance (NCA). This is how we became involved with NCA.

Concerns & Reservations about “Nationwide Credit Alliance NCA”
Bill Cloyd’s recruiting process is clearly a numbers game… simple raw numbers. For the most part the recruitment was done over the internet via e-mail and web conferences. We did speak with Bill for about 3 minutes; just long enough to be referred to his “partner company.”

We followed up that referral and met with the "partner" at a Mortgage Conference. During this meeting we discussed our background in online marketing, lending and our interest in credit repair. The "partner" explained how Bill Cloyd’s “Partner System” worked, and that Bill was helping him recruit for NCA, which he managed. The "partner" seemed nervous, and was guarded, not liking or unable to answer our technical questions. We found it interesting how eagerly he accepted our challenge to put the www.NForc.com credit repair system to our online challenge agreeing it was a good idea. The "partner" liked our plan of actually tracking the repair process and posting the ongoing results from several “Test Files.” He understood that few accept claims that the “system works” simply because some trained parrot rattles off a smoke and mirrors sales tract. We wanted to provide some actual real life proof!

The Credit Repair Challenge is Accepted
The "partner" agreed that we would provide 2 couples who would volunteer to allow their before, ongoing, and after credit repair results shown online, and their results tracked. We were told that Bill Cloyd reveled in such challenges because it never failed to prove the superiority of www.NForc.com.  With more people experiencing credit issues the timing for a solid credit repair program was perfect… even if we did feel it was wildly overpriced.

Agrees to Market Nationwide Credit Alliance, NCA
For our part, we agreed to work with “Nationwide Credit Alliance” and develop an online marketing presence. It was always agreed that we would market the services under “The Wright Team” logo using the “Nationwide Credit Alliance” name.

The "partner" drew up our contract providing a commission formula that was structured in such a manner as to be attractive to the Realtors and Lenders that California Online Magazine works with. This would reward them for signing up customers while helping them sell more houses. We were more interested with the potential lending advantages and ability to help those with credit blemishes. Our agreement paid out the bulk of the commissions we would have received directly to the realtors and lenders promoting the service. It allowed for an eventual profit, based on combined volume, as the “Wright Team” Network expanded. Just about everyone we talked to was excited about this much anticipated service.

As it worked out, the "partner" failed to honor this agreement and in the end demanded we accept a modification that benefited only him. Laughably, he said “His attorneys advised him this was best for him.” It was the attorney’s version on the “Pirates motto;” Take what you can, give back nothing… Aarrrg Matey, and after the fact we were marooned. So much for all of the partner’s “Christian Ministry,” that would appear to be a convenient marketing slogan. (May we suggest the “Pirates Motto,” it seems more accurate.)
