Nothing has not been thought out; “Macaroni Grill” provides a menu that appears and sounds “Gourmet” without charging the prices of the higher end “Formal Italian” venues. The menu has something for just about everyone, plus an impressive beverage and wine list without becoming too pricey.
The wine lists about thirty Californian, Italian, Austrian, and Washington selections by the glass or bottle. Also fun, if you enjoy drinking the “House Wine” Macaroni grill brings a bottle of their house wine to your table and allows you to pour your own wine on the “honor system.” At the end of your meal you tell them how many glasses you had… assuming you can remember. We are not sure they really care; it is all part of the Macaroni Grill production and assures repeat business.
Of our personal favorite is the Macaroni Grill’s Chicken Marsala; Thinly sliced chicken breast topped with fresh portobello mushrooms, roasted garlic and Macaroni Grill’s marsala wine sauce. Served with capellini pasta. This recipe produces a delicious wine reduction sauce, enhanced with whole caramelized garlic cloves. The sauce is uncomplicated, but amazingly flavorful... which seems to be the trademark of the best Italian Restaurant menus.
Also very good, and a little different from anything else we see on menus is Macaroni Grill’s Honey Balsamic Chicken; Savory grilled chicken with honey balsamic glaze. Served with sundried tomato capellini pasta and grilled broccoli. Once again the reduction sauce makes this dish.
Surprisingly good is Macaroni Grill’s Halibut; Lightly seasoned grilled halibut topped with a tomato basil relish and served with creamy pesto Parmesan risotto. If Pizza is your thing… the pizza’s baked in the Grill’s wood fired oven is a sure hit.
